Health insurance (zdravotni pojisteni)
Mandatory public health insurance contributions.
Public health insurance is mandatory. Employees pay 4.5 percent of gross salary and employers add 9 percent. A self-employed person pays 13.5 percent of half of their tax base, again with a statutory minimum that everyone must pay even in a loss-making year.
