What data we collect
During normal use we automatically process technical data required to operate the site: IP address, browser type, operating system, browser language, access time and referring URL. This data is used to ensure security, prevent abuse and produce basic traffic analytics.
If you subscribe to the newsletter we store your email address. If you contact us, we store the contents of the message and the contact details you provide so that we can reply.
Purpose and legal basis
We process personal data to operate the website, ensure security, measure traffic, deliver the newsletter and display advertising. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), contract performance for the newsletter (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your explicit consent for advertising cookies (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Cookies
The site uses cookies. Strictly necessary technical cookies are always set. Analytical and advertising cookies are set only after you consent in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser or changing your preferences in the banner.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 from Google Ireland Limited to measure traffic. The tool uses cookies to distinguish anonymous visitors and produce aggregated behaviour reports. IP addresses are anonymised. Data is retained for 14 months.
Google AdSense
The site may display advertising through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at google.com/settings/ads.
Other processors
We use the following processors: Cloudflare (network infrastructure, security and hosting) and Google (analytics and advertising). All are bound by data processing agreements and applicable EU legislation or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data retention
Technical logs are stored for 30 days. Analytics data in Google Analytics for 14 months. Newsletter email addresses are processed until consent is withdrawn. Correspondence is archived for three years.
Your rights under the GDPR
Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
