Q&A · Accountant and advisor
How much does a tax advisor cost in Czechia?
Preparing a self-employed person's tax return usually costs 3,000 to 8,000 CZK depending on complexity. A full annual service including payroll and VAT starts around 5,000 CZK per month. Hourly rates in Prague run between 1,500 and 3,500 CZK.
The price of a one-off return depends on the number of income items, whether you keep tax records or full books, and whether foreign income is involved. For a student with a single agreement it is around 1,500 CZK; for a VAT-registered trader with employees it can easily reach 15,000 CZK.
A monthly retainer for a self-employed person with tax records, VAT and one payroll usually falls between 4,000 and 8,000 CZK. For limited companies, retainers start around 6,000 CZK and rise with the number of documents.
Advisors registered with the Chamber of Tax Advisors of the Czech Republic carry statutory professional liability insurance and can represent you before the tax office. That is the main difference from an ordinary bookkeeper, who cannot act under a power of attorney to represent you.
For 2026, prices rose roughly 5 to 10 percent year on year, mainly because of changes to VAT and the flat-rate tax that added administrative work.
